I've got lots of books on today's radar, starting off with the conclusion of a great series by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips with Fatale #24. I hate to see this title end, but Brubaker and Phillips have another new Image title on the way with The Fade Out #1 releasing on August 20.
Matt Kindt's outstanding series Mind MGMT continues today with issue #24. If you're not picking up this title in single issues, you should.
Bodies #1 from Vertigo gives us a story of four dead bodies, with four detectives investigating their murders over four different eras in London. I'm in.
I've already read an advance copy of Low #1 for the most recent Comics Alternative podcast and I can tell you that this is - so far - my favorite single issue of any comic published in 2014. Highly recommended.
I'm very much intrigued by this collected edition of Weapon Brown - Charlie Brown as an avenging cyborg? I've gotta check this out.

From time to time I take a look at the Deal of the Day over at Things From Another World. Today's deal is a good one, especially if you've never read any Fantastic Four. Forget the awful movies: this is the good stuff. This collection showcases Stan Lee and Jack Kirby at their peak, reprinting (in black and white) Fantastic Four #41-63 and annuals #3 and 4, featuring the Silver Surfer, Galactus, Doctor Doom, the Inhumans... Trust me, this is classic stuff.
Also big in the news: the Eisner Award winners can be found here. Surprises? Not really, but we could certainly discuss some of the choices, which I plan to do here in the coming days. Congratulations to the nominees and winners.

My latest review of the Eisner-nominated Watson and Holmes is now up at The Comics Alternative. If you haven't experienced this series yet, there's no better time than right now. The first trade paperback edition covers issues #1-5 and is a fantastic take on the entire Sherlock Holmes/Dr. Watson universe. I hope you'll check it out.
On the news front, I'm very excited and honored to be an official part of The Comics Alternative staff! I'm humbled to be in the same company with these gentlemen, guys who know waaaaaaaaaay more about comics than I do.
